Children who have attended our “Great Start For The Little One” programme cope better when they go to nursery, adapt more easily to new places and new situations, and are better at making friends with other children.
“Great Start For The Five-Year-Olds” is an intensive, but enjoyable programme of activities for children of that age. In a small group, children learn to read, write and count. The staff are able to more easily assess every child’s readiness for school and help children catch up. “Great Start At School” is a programme of activities designed to support six-year-old students by consolidating things learned at school. NURSERY
OPENING HOURS

The nursery is open from 7:30 am to 4 pm; we can extend the opening hours to 7 am to 5 pm.
Our regular teaching activities, outdoor trips and games, English-language lessons and music classes take place take place between 9 am and 2 pm. Parents can choose from two options with regard to the hours the children spend at the nursery:
MEALS
Children who spend five hours at the nursery eat a “second breakfast” (early lunch) which they bring from home.
Children who stay at the nursery longer than five hours eat meals delivered to “Uśmiech” by a catering company. There is always drinking water and fruit tea available for children. PRICES
Our monthly fee covers all costs, including English-language lessons and music classes, museum and cinema outings, and trips to attractions located in Krakow.
Additional fees apply with regard to: insurance (approx.. 30 zł per year) and out-of-town trips. In the case of the five-hour stay (from 9 am to 2 pm), the monthly fee is 470 zł. In the case of the full stay (from 7.30 am to 4 pm), the monthly fee is 720 zł. Please contact us for a price quote if you would like the child to stay at the nursery for longer than five hours (but not the full stay), or if you are interested in our extended opening hours, from 7 am to 5 pm. The nursery accepts children aged 3 and above. Younger children — at least 30-months-old — are accepted if they have reached a sufficient level of maturity.

KIDS' CLUB
|
Some children are naturally self-confident, find it easy to make friends, and quickly acclimatise to unknown environments. However, most children need a bit of time to slowly and gradually get to know people and new places.
Parents sometimes believe in the “throw in the deep end” method. But the majority of mums and dads want to accompany the child in his or her first contacts with its peers, to observe how the child interacts and to support him or her with their presence. Great Start for the Little Ones
Programme of activities based on three steps aimed at developing the child’s independence:
1. First contacts with peers in a new environment. The child chooses toys on his or her own. The staff offer support as and when needed. Parents play with children and help out in group activities (physical and artistic). 2. The child attempts to take part in group activities directed by the staff, and thereby learns to function in a group of peers. Parents stay nearby, but do not take part in group activities. 3. The child independently participates in the activities — a real test of the child’s “nursery-readiness”! The parent leaves the child on his or her own for short periods of time. Our programmes of activities run from September (or from October, for older children) through June.
We accept applications, for the following school year, from May. If there are places available, children can also join during the school year. We invite all parents interested in our “Great Start” programmes to join us, with the child, for one day, free of charge. Once you have had a chance to observe how our classes are run, how we interact with children, and what the pace of the classes is, we hope you will be in a position to make an informed decision and complete the formalities. PRICESThe first session is free of charge. Subsequently, we ask parents to pay a sign-up fee of 100 zł, fill in an information card, and sign the contract/sign-up application
